How To Get These Beach Waves

Every now and then I get asked how I do my wavy hair, and to do a tutorial. I am always a little hesitant about doing tutorials because I feel like there are tons of great beauty/hair bloggers and vloggers out there that put up awesome videos! However, I wanted to share the technique and products that I really like with you, and thought I’d make an attempt at turning this into a video, rather than just writing it. So please don’t hate me if it’s not that good!

I apologize in advance for the fact that this video is just shy of 20 minutes. I went through the entire process from just-washed hair to the final style. I also talk about a few products and styling tools that I love, and explain the technique a few times. (I do use a curling wand, but you can also use a curling iron and just not open the clamp.)

I really want to say that this style is effortless and takes little time, but that is not entirely true. Like all of you, I’m always looking for easy, fast ways to do things. However, it does take some practice using a curling wand, and the amount of time it takes depends on your hair length and texture. But I promise, once you get the hang of it—it’s easy! The key is to practice, and let the hair “fall” for a bit to create that loose, flowy effect!

Below the video, are all the products and tools that I use for the look. I also provide a few alternatives to products that I’ve been using for a while now, and really like as well.) I hope you enjoy this, and pick up a tip or two!
