Chill Out

I was going to title this post Shades of Gray but it came way too close to Fifty Shades of Gray; and I really didn’t want to get into all of that. So I decided to go with a winter-wear inspired word because it’s kind of what I’m wearing…and this statement really has nothing to do with this post so let’s just move on. Shall we?

A bit of a chill finally came down to Texas last week. I say a “bit” only because it’s back up to the 70s this week. Yeah, this global warming this is pretty crazy. With it being so warm right now, it doesn’t even feel like Christmas is already next week. I feel like we should be celebrating Labor Day but alas it is the end of the year. Usually, I love roaming the malls during this season, looking for presents, enjoying all the festive décor, hearing the holiday music from store to store, grabbing a Cinnabon…

Sounds amazing, huh? Yeah, not so much. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been particularly busy this year but for some reason, I just didn’t feel like doing that. Just thinking about squeezing myself through all those people walking super slow through the malls, large crowds, long cashier lines…(need I say more) – it ALL exhausted me. So, I decided to try out the online thing. I’m not a huge online shopper (I do buy a few things here and there, mostly electronics). I like being able to physically see what I’m buying and easily returning it if need be. This year, I decided to brave it.

What.A.Relief.

Now instead of wasting my energy in these stores, I can waste it by lying on my couch, sipping hot chocolate (or eating a popsicle depending on how hot is) and watching awesome holiday movies on TV – (ahem) Home Alone, Love Actually, The Grinch…I could go on and on…

This week, I thought I’d pack in a few posts before the Christmas holiday so check back tomorrow for a little “For Him…For Her” post and then again on Thursday for a holiday-inspired look!

I’m trying to show a few more glimpses of the things that I do on Twitter and Facebook, so if you haven’t already make sure to follow me on them!
