I had originally bought this skirt a couple of years back to wear on a trip to Miami. It was intended to be a one-time wear piece since it cost like 8 bucks. I never did wear it then but surprisingly I have worn it a couple of times to work and then in a more casual way. It’s still in my closet and I don’t plan on giving it up any time soon especially after I was able to get these two outfits from it.
As you can see I’ve become a huge fan of my Converse kicks. They seem to go with everything (though I don’t wear it with all my outfits but trust me if I could I probably would). This is obviously the skirt dressed down.

Ladies…the power of simple black blazer, nude pumps and a striped tee.
The skirt is fitted and my blazer is a bit loose so I decided to button it and then “clean” up the silhoutte by adding a patent belt around the waist. Since, the pattern of the skirt and shirt are very strong – I wanted to keep the color of the blazer, belt and pumps simple thereby giving the entire outfit a more sophisticated look. A similar color necklace, bracelet and black bag complete the look.

You could also wear black pumps instead of nude, but I would avoid anything pointy-toe with an outfit that has such a fitted skirt (unless it was a fitted pencil skirt).
