The other day, I was quickly reminded that fall is just around the corner (or faux-fall as Houstonians should call it). This is my favorite time of the year with the seasons changing, new fashion styles arriving, September magazine issues, and holiday preparations. Though, fall starts in a little over a month it’s predicted to stay hot in Houston for a while so I’m definitely going to hold off on bringing my suitcase full of fall/winter clothes from the attic.
One of my favorite spring/pre-fall looks is pairing shorts with a blazer. I did wear this combo earlier in the year when I wore this but haven’t been able to pull it off the last couple of months because it was just too hot. Though, it hasn’t cooled down all that much the evenings have come to the point where I can wear a light blazer and go out.
To still keep in with the season I’m wearing bright colors, though I don’t plan on giving them up within the next few months. I’ll probably just be a bit more subtle by pairing these colors with more muted pieces, but for know I’m just going to keep enjoying color-blocking.

Before I sign off for the week I want to give a SHOUT OUT to one of my best friends, Jenny. I hope you have an amazing time in Baltimore and I can’t wait to see you (after I see you this Friday) in December! Good luck!
