Breezy Floral

It’s been a pretty sluggish start to the week. For starters, I twisted and fell on the upper part of my leg while paintballing with my cousins (which has put me out of commission for the last few days). However, I still managed to play two more rounds, with a hurt leg, but the pain must have taken over because I kept shooting a paintball gun with no ammo and was finally forced to surrender! Secondly, I’ve been so engrossed with the occurrence of what happened this past Sunday night that I wasn’t able to pry my eyes away from the TV, Internet, BBC News, or CNN.

Today has finally been the first day where I feel like my week is actually supposed to begin and I realized that I still have two really fun floral segments to share with you.

As I mentioned before, floral is such a versatile pattern that it can be incorporated in pretty much any way to give off tons of different looks. Rompers are a really cute, fun way to dress up and with a floral pattern to it – it makes a great addition to your spring or summer wardrobe.

This piece can be worn both casually (like I have on with flip flops and bracelets) or you can dress it up. Just thrown on a blazer, heels and some jewelry and you’ve got a going-out outfit. You could even simply wear it as a beach cover up if you wanted. Again, it just shows the versatility of the pattern and the piece.

Floral doesn’t necessarily have to be an article of clothing – it can also be an accessory. I recently received this fedora hat as a birthday present. I love the pattern and colors on the band of the hat and I already know it’s going to be a new favorite item of mine.

This outfit is very casual, consisting of jean shorts, a light sea green chiffon top, gray belt, nude flats, navy blazer and of course, the fedora. It’s a perfect outfit it you’re going out to a casual dinner, meeting up friends or if you take the jacket off – an outfit for the beach or park.

The focus of the outfit is the hat so you want to make sure the rest of the ensemble is composed of minimalistic pieces with colors that won’t overshadow the hat.

Another great accessory is a light, floral print scarf . You want to make sure that you choose a scarf that has colorful flowers but the material is airy so that you can wear it during the spring or summer months. It does get a little too hot in Houston but I’ll wear a scarf anyways because both the scarf and the rest of my outfit are usually made out delicate – floaty types of material.

  1. You forgot to give credit to the Harry Potter book 😉 Love the hat.. I would totally wear that. Can you do a piece on when brown and black can be worn together?

  2. Howdy! I could have sworn I’ve been to your blog before but after going
through a few of the posts I realized it’s new to me.
Nonetheless, I’m certainly delighted I found it and I’ll be
book-marking it and checking back frequently!
