This past week was a bit tough to get through and I’m going to blame it on the fact that it was the week before I go on my much anticipated London vacation! To take a little breather I thought I’d indulge in two of my favorite things – chocolate and Lucky magazine.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with chocolate – it’s this amazingly, sweet…just kidding!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Lucky magazine – let me introduce you. It’s this magazine that is full of amazing tips, styles and trends regarding shopping, clothes, fashion, make-up and everything else in between.
The two things that I love about Lucky is that it shows you how to actually style pieces together and gives you a spectrum of higher end pieces to more affordable ones. I’ve been subscribing to it for about 5 years now and I’ve collected hundreds of different tips and outfits that I just recently started cutting out and keeping in a binder.
Here are a few of my favorites from the April edition:
I love this outfit – it’s simple and chic; something anyone can easily put together. In this case, any dress would go – not just a white one. It’s a lot easier than you might think and I’ll show you how to do it in another segment.
Here the designer was inspired by a simple painting. Using just these colors she was able to put together an outfit. This isn’t one of my favorite outfits but I do like how she was able to put something together solely based on a painting. It just proves to show that inspiration can come from anything.
The magazine does a great job of emphasizing the concept that fashion does not have to be expensive. It shows that you can find trendy, useful items at more affordable prices. Don’t get me wrong it does have some ridiculously priced things in it (see below) but over all it gives you quality products and fashionable outfits at reasonable prices.
I’m obsessed with cleaning out closets and do a huge bi-annual closet clean out every year – once in the fall (pack up my spring clothes) and once in the spring (pack up my fall clothes). Which is why I found this article, Lucky Magazine – Organizing Your Closet, to be extremely helpful. If you’re thinking about re-organizing your closet – I suggest you read this to get a better sense of how to do it.
I highly recommend that everyone grab the April 2011 edition of the magazine or at least go to www.luckymag.com to see what’s in this issue. It’s full of really great spring/summer fashion, ideas, outfits and beauty tips. I loved just about everything in it and wish I could have shared it all with you. From time to time, you’ll find that I’ll use Lucky on my blog so you’ll still get tips from here too.
It was nice to take a little break from my hectic week for a bit of indulgence and inspiration. By the way, I was eating Belgian Chocolate Mousse from Whole Foods. It is A-mazing – if you’re ever in the mood for something sweet.
